  Bob is a consultant to the accounting firm of Turner, Leins, & Gold, CPAs.  As a tax accountant and business consultant, he is also a member of several small business board of directors.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland and has advised on income tax matters as well as conducted seminars for the past 35 years for federal and private industry groups. 

Bob is also the founder of the National Institute of Transition Planning, Inc. (NITP), the nation's largest federal pre-retirement and mid-career planning seminar provider.  NITP:

 

Donald Gold, CPA, CPE

Donald received his Bachelor of Commercial Science degree in accounting from the Benjamin Franklin University, now part of George Washington University.  His experience includes 40 years of public accounting experience, including national firm experience with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young).   In 1974, Don formed a partnership in public accounting.  In 1989, he merged his practice into Gold, Leins, & Adoff.  His practice includes advising small and medium-sized businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals.   Principle services include accounting and auditing, business management advice, and income tax planning and preparation.

 

J. Paul Johnson, Jr., CPA, CFP®

Paul has over 26 years of experience working with professionals and small business owners focusing on taxation, retirement and investment planning and strategies. He began his career in 1986 developing tax and investment strategies for professionals and retirees to maximize tax savings and personal wealth management techniques. He has successfully worked with small business owners to develop and implement short and long-range tax and financial strategies to reduce taxes and increase personal wealth for the business owner. Paul has managed investment portfolios for individuals and small businesses through both positive and negative market conditions with an overall bias towards risk management while still working towards client specific objectives. He has extensive small business expertise not only from a tax and investment advisory capacity but also from personal experience running his own firm. Paul has developed training materials and taught thousands of students entering the investment industry. Paul graduated cum laude from Nicholls State University with a B.S. Business Administration in 1985. He is a practicing CPA, a licensed CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Maryland Association of CPAs.

 

Jim Magno, CPA

Jim is a graduate of University of Maryland (BS College of Business and Management) and University of Baltimore (MS Tax). Core practice areas areas including individual, estate, trust and small business clients including planning services and tax preparation services. Jim enjoys assisting clients with estate administration which  comes at a very traumatic time in life.

Jim currently serves as a volunteer for Montgomery Hospice(Investment Committee), St Johns Community Service Foundation (Investment Committee) and Association of Practicing Certified Public Accountants(Board of Directors.

Gary A. Boswell, CPA

Gary entered into the accounting profession after obtaining degrees in Economics from Denison University and Business Administration from the University of Maryland.  He started out in the private sector, but has since accumulated over 30 years of public accounting experience working both as a sole proprietor and with firms located in Maryland and Virginia.  During that time, he has prepared income tax returns for various types of businesses including for-profit and not-for-profits, estates, trusts and retirement plans.

Living in the Washington, D.C. Metro area most of his life, he is a believer in giving back to the community and has been a member of Kiwanis International since 1982.  During that time, he has held many leadership positions.  Gary has also served as treasurer for several not for profits as an unpaid volunteer for many years.  Gary is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).

 

Eric Manco

Eric Manco is a graduate of Mount St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Core practice areas include tax planning and tax preparation services for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.  Eric enjoys assisting clients and helping them with their tax issues.

Khloe graduated from Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2013.  Khloe is very interested in core practices and accounting regulations. 

 

David Botello

David is a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting and Economics in 2012.  Prior to joining the firm, he interned at CIGNA, Susquehanna International Group, and American International Group.  David's core practice areas include corporate and individual tax return preparation. 

 

Mary Maggin

Mary received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Maryland and a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola University in Baltimore.  She taught high school math for seven years and was a junior high school guidance counselor for three years.  She was an office manager and bookkeeper for a small commercial construction company in Rockville for 10 years.  Mary is now part of the support staff at Turner, Leins, and Gold, mainly working with billing and project tracking.

 

Christina Andrews

Christina is a highly motivated, versatile, and efficient Administrative Assistant.  Christina has over five years' experience providing administrative support in the certified public accounting field and is currently a student, working on receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.  Her careful, systematic approach, comfort in working independently, and respect for confidentiality are valuable qualities in the various roles she plays.
